A-1 Glass offers variety of glass options.
● Annealed glass – Also known as “standard glass”, non-tempered glass and is much easier to break. When annealed glass breaks, it breaks into large shards which can cause significant injuries.
● Tempered glass – Also known as “safety glass”, is heat strengthened and is much harder and stronger than annealed glass. When tempered glass breaks, it breaks into a million little pieces. While it can still cut you, it does not pose the same dangers as annealed glass when broken. By code, all shower doors are required to be tempered glass for safety reasons.
● Single pane glass – just as it sounds: a single layer of glass in a window or door.
● Double pane glass – they have two layers of glass with a spacer, and sometimes argon gas. Double pane glass offers energy savings, noise reduction and can provide UV protection with LowE glass as one of the panes.
● Colored Glass – Our vendors offer some colored glass options. Clear glass (has a green hue), crystal clear glass (no hue), grey glass, and bronze glass. If you have additional colors you are looking for, let us know so we can see if I have a vendor that offers it.
● Patterned Glass – Patterned glass is generally used for cabinet glass doors and there are many choices to choose from.
